The 2008 European Supply Chain Excellence Awards is fast approaching so don’t miss out – book your table now for the biggest event in the supply chain calendar.

Last year’s event was a complete sell out and with a record number of entries received this year demand to attend the awards night is even higher.

The event takes place on Tuesday 28th October at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel and starts with a champagne reception, followed by a three course dinner after which the awards ceremony and entertainment by a renowned personality will commence.

The 2007 European Supply Chain Excellence Awards surpassed all others in the series so far, not only on number of submitted entries and finalists, but also with the greatest attendance on the Awards Night with over 400 supply chain professionals turning up to see the best in Europe receive their Awards.

Last year's winners included such illustrious names as: Infineon Technologies, Novozymes, Tesco Direct, Thomson Telecom, TNK-BP, Trelleborg, Johnson & Johnson, Vodafone, Meadowhall Centre, and Homebase.

Apart from the kudos of winning, the acclaim from industry peers, the team building experience of being involved - and if shortlisted, being at the Awards Night at The Grosvenor House Hotel - one of the most important and unique attributes of the Awards is the feedback from the in-depth judging process.

For the third year now, leading supply chain management consultants, PRTM, will be partnering Supply Chain Standard on the Awards judging process. For entrants, this means the chance to gain an expert external assessment and feedback on your supply chain. Many enter the Awards for the journey, regardless of the destination.

Shining the Spotlight on Supply Chain Excellence
Gordon Colborn, Director, PRTM

PRTM is delighted to once again partner with Supply Chain Standard for the 2008 European Supply Chain Excellence Awards.

Over the last two years, we have been delighted to see the continued development of the awards to become what is now generally recognised as the premier European supply chain award.

Since our founding in 1976, PRTM has shone the spotlight on operations—the component of the business world that often goes unheralded. In a series of executive seminars we conducted in the mid-1980s on behalf of the then-fledgling American Electronics Association, we talked about a cross-functional set of integrated processes that we called supply chain management. By the mid-1990s, PRTM had led the development of the Supply-Chain Operations Reference-model (SCOR®), now widely adopted by the industry. Since then, we have worked on supply chain projects at more than 600 organisations across a broad spectrum of industries. We have helped some of the world''s leading companies turn their supply chains into sources of competitive advantage, with shorter lead times, higher levels of customer service, and lower costs.

During this time, PRTM has compiled what is generally acknowledged to be the most comprehensive and leading database of supply chain benchmark information available today.

PRTM is excited by the opportunity to work with companies who aspire to excellence in their supply chain performance. If Europe is to compete on a global playing field, our ability to succeed will be significantly influenced by the quality of our supply chains. This is why we find the European Supply Chain Excellence Awards such an important program on the annual calendar.
