Retailer Delhaize Belgium is to implement an integrated supply chain ERP platform designed to enable it to standardise its supply chain transactions, increasing efficiency and productivity.

Delhaize Belgium is a subsidiary of Delhaize Group, the Belgian retailer which has 2,732 stores in six countries and employs some 141,000 people.

It has awarded Accenture the contract to support the implementation of the G.O.L.D system from Aldata.

Delhaize also plans to use the new system to improve the management of the inventory in its data centres, aiding its ability to make faster and better business decisions, while reducing inventory costs.

Luc Koenot, senior vice president and chief information officer at Delhaize Belgium, said: "Accenture's proven track record in the retail industry and system integration capabilities assures us that the collaboration with Accenture will provide Delhaize Belgium with access to the appropriate expertise and know-how to deliver on this ambitious vision."
