Delta Shipping Lines (DSL) has launched a ‘New UK Gateway to Russia’ container service offering fixed-day weekly sailings between Tilbury and St Petersburg.

The service will use two vessels, the m/v Victoria and m/v Cartagena offering a direct UK call to St. Petersburg for the first time.

DSL currently offers services to Rotterdam, Gothenburg, Aarhus, Hamburg and Dunkirk.

The service calls at Tilbury Short Sea Container Terminal every Tuesday and all types of containers and equipment are available for shippers, including high cube, pallet-wide and reefers. Door-Door and Quay-Quay rates are both available and shippers’ own equipment is always welcome.

This route is supported by the Charles Gee Group in its newly appointed role as exclusive UK port and liner agents to DSL. Kevin Walker of  Charles Gee Group, said: “Both companies feel this is an exciting opportunity and an area in which we both have considerable experience.”
