NOL orders ten new container ships

Shipping company NOL Group has placed an order for ten new TEU container ships from Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering, based in South Korea.

The vessels are due to be delivered in 2013 and 2014.

The contract should be worth US$1.2 billion, along with a letter of intent to buy two 10,700 TEU ships.
