Eli Goldratt

Supply chain academic and consultant Dr Eli Goldratt died at his home on Saturday 11th June.

Goldratt created the Theory of Constraints, a framework for helping companies continually to achieve their goals, which he introduced in his book “The Goal.” He also founded the non-profit organisation Theory of Constraints for Education.

His colleague Hugh Williams, managing director of Hughenden Consulting, said: “I spent six years working with Eli and without doubt this time changed the entire direction of my life… Rest in peace, Eli. Your contribution to supply chain lives on.”

His ability to sow seeds, establish principles and patterns in the midst of a story is part of His legacy. The Supply Chain Principles are so clear and resound so well, its amazing how few still struggle to see why running at the speed of the slowest "boy scout" in the group is logical or even reasonable.
