Strategic imperatives in electronics distribution
Supply chain is core to the business of Electrocomponents – the leading high service distributor of electrical, electronic and industrial supplies. Starting in 1937 in London selling spare parts for radios the Group now has operations in 27 countries and a turnover of around £973m, of which 67 per cent comes from its international business.
Anne Bruggink, general manager – supply chain at Electrocomponents has responsibility for the Group’s supply chain strategy and it’s planning systems to create a single, global and transparent operation.
He has been pivotal in achieving significant cost and stock reductions while effecting service improvements. He explains the strategy to Malory Davies, editor of Supply Chain Standard.
