Audi boosts sales offering with Wincanton

Audi has chosen Wincanton to implement its interactive sales support tool, the Audi Configurator, across retail stores in Germany.

Wincanton will be responsible for the entire supply chain of the project, including transport planning, merging and delivering the different modules to an initial 500 showrooms.

The logistics provider will use a specialised fleet of air-suspended vehicles with heated cargo compartments.

On arrival at Audi Centres specially trained staff will oversee the necessary systems checks, network connection and online start-up of the Audi Configurator.

The logistics set up, which was jointly developed by Audi and Wincanton, has been geared to meet a tight roll out schedule.

The Audi Configurator is an interactive sales-support tool and offers multimedia information about the whole Audi product portfolio. It uses a touch display or tablet-PC and is able to visualise all car configurations – ranging from engine size and type to the interior.

It includes the complete range of optional equipment and presents the visuals in a three-dimensional format on a high-resolution monitor.
